The Ledges // Huntsville // New Years Eve Wedding
I realize I haven't yet shared Geoffrey & Mary Margaret's engagement blog post (oops, I'm a slacker and I WILL share it because Downtown Huntsville has. my. heart.) but last night I was so excited about starting to edit these that I chose a few (this is relative, considering how many photos I have from their wedding at The Ledges in Huntsville) to share as a SNEAK PEAK. (Of way too many photos) #sorrynotsorry First of all: MARLEY'S DRESS. Admire her gorgeous dress she bought from Kathleen's Bridal.
The lace is so pretty, it makes me giddy. I probably took about 20 photos of JUST the dress. On a hanger. You know. Us wedding photographers get too excited about details. Which leads me to....
Duh dun duh dahhhh!!!! THE RING. The ring in the Mrs. Box is her grandmothers! Her grandpa was a jeweler, and I just couldn't pass up the chance to let the ring shine in all its glory! But Geoff did an AWESOME JOB choosing Mary Margaret's rings, didn't he? One more, just because:
Okay. Back to the gorgeous Bride of the New Year!
I mean honestly. HEART EYE HANGOVER. Seeing the bride's dress is one of my favorite things about BEING a wedding photographer. I get to ogle over different laces & gorgeous intricate beading.
Under the Veil did her makeup, and isn't it just perfect to celebrate the New Years?
Mary Margaret's grandmother made all of the bouquet & floral arrangements on her wedding day.
THE BACK OF THIS DRESS. I had to put a photo of JUST the back of the dress because of how unique it is.
Lets not forget our handsome groom, Geoff. I have to say that the light in the Groom's lounge at The Ledges in Huntsville was a dream for a wedding photographer. Filled with natural airiness.
Check out his socks !!!
I always recommend to my couples that they do a first look! It not only provides extra time for portraits of the two most important people of the day, it gives you a few moments to JUST BE. (It also takes away some of the anxiety of "will he accidentally see me??")
Isn't The Ledges just a gorgeous venue? TALK ABOUT DRAMAAAA!!
Okay, so all you Huntsvillians (Is that what y'all--we--are called?) remember that New Years Eve was F-R-E-E-Z-I-N-G. And so the next photos of the outdoors in our little mountains should make you give a standing ovation to Marley for braving the bracing cold.
Isn't this Rolls Royce they rented SO COOL? Marley & Geoff wanted a classy soiree for their wedding, and I think they nailed it!!
Warming the whole bridal party up at the fire!
Can you guess which one of these groomsmen has a black eye from the night before?
I was so appreciative these girls went out into the 13 degree weather (according to weather.com, it felt like ZERO) in their dresses for a few photos. I say it was worth it, and hopefully they agree!
Geoffrey has that Southern dip down. He had to make his first kiss with his new bride COUNT! (Look at the ring bearers' faces. Aren't they TOO CUTE?)
Some sunset photos (we were outside for about 5 minutes)! The Ledges overlooks all of Huntsville, but we would have had to walk too far to get that view. We ran down the back of the patio, and Geoffrey attempted to warm Marley up, but she still became numb!
^^ I spy Marley's goosebumps & her grandmother's wedding rings. I love how special it is to wear your something borrowed from a grandparent!
Okay. Little fact about your wedding photographer: I, Kylie Anne, have never successfully photographed a dance with a parent without crying. Marley's dance with her dad was no different--in fact it was probably worse because he selected the song as a surprise to Mary Margaret. If that doesn't pull at your heart...
Ringing in the New Year as husband and wife. I felt incredibly honored to photograph not only ONE but TWO important dates! This is honestly why I LIVE for being a wedding photographer. I get to help people celebrate their big days. Forever. Because these photos are what you will have to remember the day by!
JOYFUL. I love joyful brides. I love grooms who are READY for their day. And I think that this exit says EVERYTHING!
Thank you Hill family for allowing me to be part of your day! I wish I could share ALL of your photos on this blog. But there are too many good ones! If you were to get married on a holiday, which holiday would it be? I would get married on the Fourth of July because #fireworks and #applepie. Wouldn't that be fun? After this, I want to photograph ALL the holiday weddings.
xx,
Kylie
